- Ofor (Detarium microcarpum) ديتاريوم ميكروكاربوم:
commonly known as sweet detar, sweet dattock or tallow tree, is an under-utilized tree legume that grows naturally in the drier regions of West and Central Africa. It is a multipurpose species, with a wide range of uses due to its medicinal properties, edible fruit (eaten raw, cooked or made into flour with many uses of its own). Ofor is a condiment used for making ofor soup or as a thickener for soups. The impact of ofor is revealed especially when preparing oha soup. The aromantic flavor makes it a good alternative for preparing most of the traditional soups. Richie’s Mart Ofor seed is 100 percent natural, dried ofor seeds, and well packed to give you the freshness you desire.
How to use:
Its seed kernels are added to egusi soup and other vegetable soup , or are cooked and eaten as vegetables. The leaves are used as a condiment or vegetables, as are its flowers.
